About Me // Recent History

In my work, I try to blend the disciplines of graphic design and writing to create rich visual-verbal narratives. I believe that this kind of visual storytelling enriches communication and builds engaging, rewarding experiences, so that the message itself is more powerful and memorable. I find inspiration in my client's needs, great photography, nature, and science.

Growing up outside Pittsburgh, PA, I graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 2005 with a BFA in Communication Design and a minor in Photography & Digital Imaging. Check out my work and some photography at Flickr and JPG.

After graduation, I made my way to the Windy City to begin work at Morningstar. Working there was great because such a high value is placed on design, and everyone is so intelligent, thoughtful, talented, and kind. And Chicago is such an awesome city! The food! The lake! The stores! What a lovely place.

At the same time, it was hard being alone. Missing my parents, grandparents, and boyfriend was very hard, and when I was offered a job at Informatics, where I'd interviewed for before I'd been offered a position with Morningstar, I couldn't turn it down. Today, I love things changing every single day and the variety of projects I get to work on.

In Short? I'm a Pittsburgh native with a love of words and images, and my interests range from writing to photography to graphic & interaction design.
